About the ios test
Yabancı Uyruklu Öğrenci Sınavı
It is a local Turkish test that is not recognized globally, conducted by most Turkish universities. It is an abbreviation of Yabancı Uyruklu Öğrenci Sınavı, which means in Turkish the test of foreign students. The Yös test is a prerequisite for admission to Turkish public universities.
The rate that students obtain from the Yös test is an important factor that has a major role in raising the rate that the student obtained in his secondary certificate, which provides the student with the possibility to apply for registration in colleges with high rates, such as medicine and pharmacy.
Where is the IOS test held?
How can I prepare for the IOS test?
Because of the importance of that test, there are many educational institutes that offer lectures on the YOS method, but these lectures may take 7-8 months if they are regular courses, or 4 months in the case of intensive courses.
Registration for the YOS test is available every year from February or March until June, and the test date for each university can be known through its official website, where the university sets the test date, and the student must adhere to the specified date.
ios test questions
In general, the YOS test consists of:
- Math questions: usually 80 questions
- Logic and intelligence questions: to measure the student's mental abilities and ability to think, which are mostly 40 questions
- Geometry topics (includes one book) and recently another topic has been added about questions that include math problems and this has been applied starting in 2017 in different universities, and their number is mostly 5 questions
It is worth noting that there is no fixed distribution of questions, as the distribution of questions in the YOS test differs from one university to another, but different universities offer questions that revolve around assessing the student’s level of intellectual intelligence and his ability to mathematical analysis. The difference in the distribution of questions is due to the vision of each university, the method of screening students, knowing their capabilities, and making a comparison on this basis. The student must know these percentages and these details for each test before starting to register for it, and what is specifically required of him to obtain an excellent result that gives the student priority in the differentiation.
The time allotted for the test in most universities is 100 minutes to answer 80 questions, and therefore the time allotted for each question is 1.15 minutes.
Universities use different abbreviations to refer to this test, as they usually put the word “yos” and before it put the abbreviation of the university itself to indicate that the test is affiliated with the university and not other universities.
